Streaming FM Radio over your HTC Evo

One of the best features of getting a smart phone is the multiple applications it can support. A high end smart phone is now so much more than a simple communications device, as it allows support for multiple different functions, making it the Swiss army knife of telephones. With an HTC Evo outfitted with an Android operating system, you can customize your phone to make perform any task you might need it for. Beyond making phone calls and receiving emails, there are a number of free Evo applications that can make it the preferred choice for listening to music as well.

Like many high end smart phones, the HTC Evo comes fully equipped with a built in MP3 player, so you can listen to your favorite songs anywhere. A major disadvantage of an MP3 player, however, is that you can only play music that you’ve already added to it. While it’s a great way to listen to your existing favorite songs, sometimes you want to listen to new music and experience songs you’ve never heard before. And there’s no better way to do that than by listening to the radio. Thankfully, there are a number of free HTC Evo applications that can allow you to listen to music right on your phone.

There are multiple applications available for download in the Android Marketplace that can provide FM radio broadcasts, as well as access to internet radio. Internet radio allows you to create customized radio stations based on your tastes, but lacks the personal flavor of FM radio stations. Radio stations usually have more distinctive musical styles, not to mention the personality of disc jockeys and radio shows. For this reason, many prefer to stick with standard FM radio over customized internet stations.

For these people, many radio stations across the country are no longer just broadcasting on the airwaves for people in the immediate vicinity, but are now live streaming their stations over the internet. This is where FM radio applications come in handy for those who prefer their local stations. Applications exist that connect to the live stream of the broadcast and put it directly into your phone. Just plug a set of headphones into the phone’s audio jack and you’re ready to listen to FM radio on the go.

This feature is great for people who already have an HTC Evo and don’t want to carry a radio or receiver as well. It’s also helpful for listening to your favorite hometown radio stations when you’re away, but still want to tune in. Say you’re favorite radio station is in your hometown of Detroit, but you have to move to Dallas for business. With FM radio streaming applications available for free on HTC Evo smart phones, you don’t have to say goodbye to your favorite music.

As smart phones add more and more new features, it’s nice to know that these high tech devices can still be used for something as simple and desirable as listening to your favorite radio station.

Scanning for Bluetooth On HTC EVO.. Never Been Easier!

As cell phones become more advanced, it seems some of the simple features get lost in transit. Where we originally just wanted our phones to make phone calls the phones can now do practically anything we imagine. Bluetooth headsets revolutionized the way we used our cell phones five years ago, and the feature is still one of the most popular uses of a cellphone. Many States have already instituted cell phone driving laws which prevent drivers from driving without using a bluetooth headset. The New HTC EVO allows you to use bluetooth in a variety of ways never thought possible.

The HTC EVO is running the latest Android OS firmware version which interacts very well with bluetooth. The main bluetooth settings can be accessed right from the settings page of the Android software settings. This area allows you to pair any kind of device you could think of. What originally started as just a way to link handsets to cellphones has evolved in a complicated communication protocol. You can link your free HTC evo to another cell phone. You can link the EVO to a car stereo or a laptop computer. All of these different uses of bluetooth allow you greater wireless freedom and more seamless integration.

When you first power on the bluetooth chip in the free Evo it wil begin to scan the area for local devices. This is when you must click connect on the other device, whether it is a another cell phone or a computer. Once both of the devices “see” each other they will begin to blink and you will need to enter a passcode. On the cellphone you will type in a four letter code that you must then type on the other device. If it is a handset you will not need to do this step.

Once the two devices are linked you are free to begin transferring data back and forth. One great example is the new bluetooth car stereos that allow you to play music wirelessly off of your EVO or another smartphone running Android. You can change the volume, track, or song, or even watch a movie and hear the audio through the car speakers. This flexibility allows you to use the device even if the passenger in the backseat wants to be in charge of the music!

You can also link via bluetooth the Android handset to another cellphone equipped with bluetooth. The coolest thing you can do with this is play games over the wireless signal. Things like chess, checkers, and even more action oriented games are all possible over a bluetooth connection. Next, you can send each other ringtones, pictures, or mp3′s to listen to . This is a great way to share new things with classmates or coworkers.

When you are not using the bluetooth pairing it is a smart idea to turn off the signal. Some users have figured out how to use the bluetooth signal for bad purposes and they will attempt to hijack your phone and steal all your contact data. This is called blusnarfing. The new HTC EVO comes equipped with some anti hijacking protocols but it is always a good idea to be safer than sorry.

Scanning for a bluetooth devices on the new HTC Evo has never been easier. The interface makes it extremely easy to find the device that you are looking for and begin transferring data. Whether it is with a phone, car, or computer, the EVO is equipped to handle all of it. It becomes a fun game trying to see how many different devices your cell phone can link up too!

Orkut on Android OS for Free HTC Evo

The Orkut app on the Android operating system is one that gives people a lot of good first impressions. The award winning social networking concept behind Orkut has been made fully mobile now on Android operating system phones and people will find the integration of this application to be both seamless and well-designed on the HTC Evo.

How Does it Work?

The Orkut App on Android works in a way similar to other apps of its type. The only main difference is that it connects a mobile device directly to the Orkut network so individuals can use the service, send SMS messages, post new photos to albums, readily check friend information, and receive new scraps at any time. It truly is a mobile version of the network and yet another reason why the HTC Evo is a highly desired smartphone.

The menu system is simple and direct. For instance, the photo sharing portion of the app merely requires the user to click on menu then share. It will begin the process immediately. This app allows for a streamlined and user friendly experience for one of the most popular networks. The fact that the HTC Evo appears as a 4G offering does not hurt either. This allows for the individual to maximize their effectiveness because the data transfer rates are the best around. Messages and photos are sent or shared with lightning fast speed that often allows the individual to complete the transfer in seconds if they live in a 4G area. The friend list can even be saved to a folder on the phone and utilized when there is no network signal at all.

How to Get it

If the individual desiring this app has an Android phone of the latest versions available then it is as simple as downloading the app. However, some people do not have android phones or they do not have an up-to-date version of the OS due to having a much older phone. The best way to use this app is to purchase the HTC Evo.

If the reasonable price tag for this high-end device presents a financial barrier for an individual, they can often find a way to get around the cost. This even includes free HTC Evo acquisitions. These types of offerings are sometimes hard to come by. They do exist, however.

The easiest method of acquiring a free Evo is to own or operate a technology blog or similar media outlet specializing in cellphones and apps. The companies that manufacture these phones want advertisement and ultimately it is much cheaper to send out a thousand free phones and receive possibly several thousand reviews or more because of this fact. The same level of advertisement through other paid means might cost ten to twenty times more money overall.

If an individual wants a free HTC Evo but they do not own or operate a technology based media review outlet they can still find them for a low price or free. The prospect becomes a little more difficult, however. The easiest methods remaining include winning them from sweepstakes offerings, buying enough items that it provides a free Evo in the deal, or purchasing the Evo as a wholesale item in a desire to resell them for profit. This last option may only include a major discount on overall prices. However, offering such a discount provides an individual ample chance to find a good deal or even a free HTC Evo.

There are many options available for an individual who wants free Evo accessories or the device itself for free. However, it does not actually matter how it is acquired. The end result is that the user will have a blazing fast internet connection and the ability to utilize world famous apps such as Orkut with ease and precision.

HTC Footprints for HTC Evo

Have you ever looked at one of your old photos and exclaimed that you used to love this place, but now you have forgotten where it is? Well, it has happened to a lot of people out there, and because of this, HTC has introduced a technology which can capture a picture and mark its location by saving it along with your picture. It strives to capture certain moments of your life and hang onto them.

You can choose to do a variety of things aside from just clicking a picture. There are certain places which cease to remain just locations and start to exist as memories in your life; for these pictures, you can add thoughts, notes and memories of that special moment. The free HTC Evo application even lets you add sound files to the picture, making it livelier. The gurgling of a small brook, the sing-song of birds and even the chattering of people outside your favorite restaurant – these help turn a picture into a memory.

The free Evo application HTC Footprints acts as a journal containing the chronicles of your life mixed with your thoughts and notes on every picture possible.

The concept of geotagging was thought out by Navman in 2005, when he decided that the mundane experience of browsing through pictures was no longer enough. Now, people need a more satisfying multimedia experience. The way it works is that when you click a picture, the GPS coordinates of the picture’s location are immediately tagged along with the picture. These coordinates are saved along with the picture on your phone. It makes it simple to see the picture, relive a happy memory, and use the GPS tracker to visit the place again.

Not only can HTC Footprints be used to track down your favorite ice-cream store across the town and the place where you first expressed your heart’s desire to your girlfriend, but also it can capture pictures of the best moments you had in the place – along with your thoughts on the location. It could vary from what you had the last time you visited the place to your girlfriend’s reaction to you saying that you love her.

This is particularly useful for travel bloggers who keep visiting new places all the time and realize that they either don’t remember what the places looked like or they forgot where a beautiful hidden coffee bar was located. With this free Evo application, all tourists have to do is to take a picture of the place and let the phone do the rest – they may even use the application to record the name of the owner and his telephone number, so they can later call and find out if the place is open on specific days. Tourists would be able to use these pictures in their internet blogs and even share the GPS coordinates, allowing other HTC customers to track down a hotel or a restaurant when they’re visiting the same locations. Another important feature in this regard is the compatibility of Footprints with Google Earth – the footprint files can be opened using Google Earth, which makes photo-location sharing that much easier.

All you have to if you want to locate a place in a busy and bustling city is to open the picture of the place and press specific buttons to start the tracking process. It can’t get any easier, because the free HTC Evo application gives you turn by turn directions following the shortest path to your destination.

This free Evo application is a novel concept that can be useful for anyone, from a tourist or hobbyist to the most seasoned travel blogger.

HTC Evo On Sprint?

Evolution happens. We can’t stop it, from caveman days to the present. As we evolved our needs changed, so we invented things like cars. Cars have evolved from a simple steam powered vehicle to what we drive today with GPS and computerized engines. We needed a better way of life so we invented washing machines and airplanes, refrigerators and tillers for the garden. Wouldn’t Mr. Alexander Graham Bell be surprised to speak on his invention today? But it has evolved as well from a rotary dial to push button dialing. Cell phones were once analog. Now they encompass 4G technology. And that’s one up from the succession of 1G, 2G and 3G technologies of the past thirty years.

Enter the HTC Evo on Sprint. When bandwidths expanded to include the transfer of data as well as voice, mobile technology evolved. As a matter of fact, HTC stands for Hit The Cell. An apt appellation for the type transmissions you will perform on your free Evo. With the Internet at our fingertips, we can Hit The Cell for all manner of applications from business to information to social networking to sports to streaming live video and watching TV or movies.

As we have evolved, so have our needs. We needed large offices once to house businesses and services. Now we outsource these things and words like telecommute and teleconference have entered the mainstream of language. As we needed instant contact with the rest of the world, we invented the world wide web which is only twenty years old. Computers used to be dinosaurs with huge reel to reel mainframes which have evolved to towers and desktop monitors. Now they are incorporated in laptops and flat screens. When we needed a phone we could carry with us on our business trips, cell phones came into popular use. These, too, have evolved from analog to digital. Now they’re just a bit larger than credit cards and not too much thicker.

Business today has become faster and more intense and we have evolved in order to keep up. Your free HTC Evo will give you split second access to your business apps as well as blinding fast transmission speeds. When you Hit The Cell to tap into gaming, your Evo can create a network supporting up to eight capable WiFi devices including televisions, laptops, smart phones or gaming equipment. Social networking has evolved from talking on the phone or the business lunch of yesteryear to networking online and on our smart phones. Snail mail has given way to email and instant messaging. Communication has evolved from the spoken word to the rapidly transmitted e-word.

The handset itself has evolved from the push button phone of the past to the wireless of just a few years ago to the 4G free HTC Evo you now hold. It has a touch screen capable of viewing a video or even making one, for that matter. It networks your social, business and family information on icons accessible through seven home screens you can pinch to move. It’s WiFi connects you to many simultaneously for the use of gaming, messaging, scheduling and much more. It is powered by the HTC Sense operating system for Android 2.1. All that and much more on a phone, a thing unheard of in the beginning days of communications.

Why the HTC Evo on Sprint? Because as changes occur in life we rise to meet them. We develop that which aids us in overcoming those changes and making the best of them. Your free HTC Evo is a truly great example of evolution.

GOOG-411 on Android OS for Free HTC Evo

Many free Evo Android OS users are seeing more service is shifting to the Android OS. Many smartphone users are mourning the announced end of GOOG-411. On November 12, 2010 GOOG-411 was shut down. The easy to use GOOG-411 service was available on all smartphones for users with ease to access anyplace by phone simply with voice queries. Google said that it would now be moving the voice search option to the free HTC Evo, which can also be found in the Android OS. Other phone user will have to use texting with the Google search options. Many users feel that this not a good option since texting while driving is completely unsafe, however, that is what the service will provide.

Using the free HTC Evo, it is possible to text the name of whatever business, home, location or place to 466453 (Google) and the information such as address and phone number of the query will be texted back of the display of the free Evo. When GOOG-411 was invented Google did intend to use the voice samples captured by their phone system servers to better innovate the application of voice recognition. Their voice recognition application was implemented at the time that the iPhone made its first debut in June of 2007. With the free HTC Evo the capability to implement voice samples has totally been made obsolete by smartphones, according to Google. Users of smartphones carry out the voice activations and other commands themselves. A developer known as Vlingo has yet another innovation in voice recognition in their version of voice command and search applications.

Those who own a free Evo should know that by now they should have the latest Android OS 2.2 version of the operating system for their free HTC Evo. This will have the enhancements referred to by Google that spurred them to shut down the GOOG-411 service. The latest version of Google’s operating system, Android OS 2.2 will support Adobe Flash on the free Evo as well as the voice command operations alluded to in the cancellation of GOOG-411 voice search service. That update was sent directly to all free HTC Evos, and it was not something that users had to request.

In the free HTC Evo, Android OS 2.2 operating system for mobile Google smartphones this operating system must be in place to run Adobe Flash Player 10.1 in the free Evo. This will enable the web surfing program to enable all capabilities on a flash based website. This would include Flash for navigation, videos and games. There are several lesser important upgrades to the free Evo Android OS 2.2 that will enable the smartphone to store applications on the smart memory card that is also removable. The platform is basically unchanged despite these upgrades.

The newest version of Android OS 2.2 will not change very much at all on the free Evo. However, with the closing of the GOOG-411 service it is now best to find a safe place to pull over if driving to use the text version of the Google search information service by texting the name of the place that phone and address are needed with the text 466453 (Google). It will be a hard pill to swallow for the many smartphone users who became very pleased with the ease of using a simple voice query and being connected immediately to the business of service in question for free. That was a safe and convenient way to get connected with the place where the user was going while using their free HTC Evo to make the voice search.
